Judith Recio
CELLO INSTRUCTOR
Judith Recio began playing the cello at the age of 13 and quickly developed a passion for sharing music with others.
She studied under Juilliard Pre-College graduate Dr. Patrick Hopkins at South Texas College and is currently continuing her training with Dr. Tido Janssen, Professor of Cello at UTRGV.
Judith serves as the principal cellist for the UTRGV Symphony Orchestra and has also performed with the Valley Symphony Orchestra, gaining valuable professional experience in both Fall 2023 and Spring 2025 seasons. She is completing her bachelor’s degree in Music Performance at UTRGV, where she is preparing her Senior Recital featuring works by Dvořák, Shostakovich, and Bach.
Judith is passionate about inspiring the next generation of musicians through her teaching and her own dedication to performance. She is excited to bring her love of music to the students of Musical Living Academy.
