John Hernandez
PIANO INSTRUCTOR
John Hernandez earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2022.
His performance experience includes a gala debut at Carnegie Hall after earning 2nd Place in an International Romantic Piano Competition, as well as performances at the Bert Ogden Arena in McAllen, TX.
John has also participated in masterclasses with world-renowned artists, including Kevin Kenner (Warsaw International Chopin Competition winner) and concert artist Magdalena Baczewska.
In addition to his performance career, John is deeply committed to music education. He was awarded a Graduate Teaching Assistantship from the UTRGV School of Music in Fall 2022 and presented his own pedagogical method book at the 2021 MTNA Conference, where it was met with strong interest and praise from piano educators across the country.
John is regularly invited to accompany performances and courses at institutions such as South Texas College and Sharyland Pioneer High School. He is also a highly sought-after private piano instructor in the Rio Grande Valley, known for combining high musical standards with an encouraging, student-centered teaching approach.
