Clair Martinez
CELLO INSTRUCTOR
Clarissa Martinez began playing the cello at the age of 11, and her passion for music has continued to inspire her throughout her journey as a musician and educator. Her love for the cello led her to pursue a career dedicated to both performing and teaching.
As a performer, Clarissa has collaborated with various chamber ensembles throughout the Rio Grande Valley, as well as performing with the Valley Symphony Orchestra and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Symphony Orchestra. She has also gained valuable experience working with students in schools as a cello consultant and as a private cello tutor.
Clarissa studied cello under the direction of Benjamin Ponder and Dr. Tido Janssen, whose guidance helped shape her development as a cellist. She is passionate about sharing her love of music with others and inspiring students to discover the joy and creativity that come with learning the cello.
